01Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Play & Learn (“the app”, “we”, “us”), a collection of learning games for children aged 3 to 6 made by an independent developer, handles information, and the choices parents have.

The app is made for young children, so we collect as little as possible. This policy is written for parents and guardians. If you have any question, contact us at mohamed.chouatt.droid@gmail.com.

02Information we collect

  • No account — the app has no sign-in. We never ask for a name, email address, phone number, photo or location.
  • Data that stays on the device — the child’s first name (optional, typed by the family), stars, stickers, levels, settings and drawings are stored only on the device and are never sent to us.
  • Anonymous usage statistics — Google Analytics for Firebase records which games are opened, how long they are played, rounds completed, the screens viewed and the app language, together with the device model, operating system version, app version, approximate country and a random app instance ID. The advertising ID is not collected, ad personalisation signals are turned off, and no name or typed text is ever sent.
  • Advertising data — the only ad is one banner in the parent area (see Advertising). Google AdMob may process the IP address, device information and interactions with that ad.
  • Voice — the words and sentences the app reads aloud are spoken by the device’s text-to-speech engine. If the engine uses an online voice, the text to be read (for example “Apple”) is sent to its provider, such as Google. No personal information is included.
  • Nothing else — the app does not use the microphone, camera, location or contacts, and it does not collect crash reports.

03How we use information

  • To keep the child’s progress, stickers and drawings on the device.
  • To understand, in total and anonymously, which games are played most, so we can improve them.
  • To show one banner in the parent area, which helps keep the app free.

04Third-party services

The app relies on the following services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

05Advertising

Children never see ads. There are no ads on the home screen, in the game menu or inside any game. The only ad is a single banner in the parent area, which is protected by a question for grown-ups.

Every ad request is marked as directed to children and under the age of consent, ads are limited to content rated G, and ads are never personalised. The app does not use the advertising ID. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

06Sharing of information

We do not sell or rent any data. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above, to run the app, or when required by law.

07Storage, security and retention

Data on the device stays there until the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared. Usage statistics are kept by Google Analytics for Firebase for a limited time (2 months by default) and then deleted automatically. Advertising data is kept by Google under its own policy. Data leaves the device only over encrypted connections.

08Parents’ rights and data deletion

Parents and guardians can ask at any time to review or delete their child’s data, or to stop any further collection.

  • Data on the device: uninstall the app, or clear its data in Settings › Apps › Play & Learn › Storage. This deletes the name, progress, stickers and drawings.
  • Usage statistics: uninstalling the app resets its random instance ID. You can also email mohamed.chouatt.droid@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my data”; because these statistics are anonymous we may need the approximate dates of use, and we will act within 30 days.
  • Stop further collection: uninstalling the app stops all collection.

09Children’s privacy

The app is directed to children. We follow the Google Play Families Policy and children’s privacy laws such as COPPA (United States) and the GDPR (European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described above, and nothing a child types ever leaves the device.

If you believe your child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If a change affects children’s data, we will update it here before the change takes effect.
